Impatient Hand

This is the first in a series of three sculptures I am building which will all share a unifying visual language. In contrast to many of the other machines I have built, these three are specifically destined for the art gallery setting. The fingers are made from military surplus 30mm anti-tank practice rounds. This hand utilizes a rotating cam mechanism to produce an "impatient tapping" motion. The second sculpture in this series is the "Voracious Mouth." The third, still under construction, is called "Fighteous."
