ROBOT PERFORMANCES & MISCELLANEOUS SCULPTURES

From the mid-1990’s to the mid-2000’s I staged approximately 30 performances featuring radio-controlled robots. These were staged at festivals such as Burning Man and Coachella, as well as at various clandestine locations throughout Northern and Southern California. I also contributed to a further 15-20 performances staged by Survival Research Laboratories and various related performance groups.

Christian Ristow's Robochrist Industries executed its last robot performance at Coachella in 2005. The title of the performance was STUNT, which has at least three meanings in the context of this show. In 2005, Coachella forbade Robochrist Industries to use fire for some unknown reason.
